Grand Land of the Ore

Have you ever heard of the Grand Land of The Ore
That lies far away, over hill, brook and bridge?
There's a valley with giants all around
But they don't see you if you're real small
Let us depart for the Grand Land of the Ore
'Cause the ore won't wait for ever, that's for sure
Just take your pickaxe and all your courage too
The journey has all kind of mishaps just for you

Let us walk five hundred miles
And let us walk five hundred more
'Cause it will take us a thousand miles
To reach the Grand Land of the Ore

When we arrive at the Grand Land of the Ore
You won't believe your own eyes, I assure
There are loads of good Dwarf-iron ore
Those nodes are growing like taters in a row

Let us walk five hundred miles
And let us walk five hundred more
'Cause it will take us a thousand miles
To reach the Grand Land of the Ore

Ore is lovely, ore is pretty, can't resist it, nothing beats it
It makes good tools and jools and trinkets too
Mine it hasty, it can't be wasted, take your pickaxe, loot it all fast
We will be rich like dragons after this trip

But don't be hasty, there are giants roaming there
They will squash you with their enormous feet
So keep quiet and act like you're a mouse
They are stupid and easy to mislead

Let us walk five hundred miles
And let us walk five hundred more
'Cause it will take us a thousand miles
To reach the Grand Land of the Ore

Ore is lovely, ore is pretty, can't resist it, nothing beats it
It makes good tools and jools and trinkets too
Mine it hasty, it can't be wasted, take your pickaxe, loot it all fast
We will be rich like dragons after this trip

Let us walk five hundred miles
And let us walk five hundred more
'Cause it will take us a thousand miles
To reach the Grand Land of the Ore

About the Song

There are some hobbits among us that like mining, and they go to great lengths to get some ore. Here is a song to them, best sung to a similar tune by the Proclaimers.
