Autumn Winds

Autumn comes, like each year
I can feel it in the morning air
The birds are singing their farewell songs
The Gammer warns of mighty storms
That shake the roofs of little hobbit homes
"Just stay inside, all be safe and sound"

Outside the cold winds blow
Little folks hide in their holes
Trying to escape the growing cold
But I step out and start my dance

I am not afraid of the autumn winds
Of the autumn winds
They make me feel like a bird that flies free
Bird that flies free
I am dancing with all those golden-coloured leaves
That whirl in the breeze
I am not afraid of the autumn winds
Of the autumn winds

I sway with the trees
I swim in fallen leaves
Stir puddles with my feet
Everything is just full of feel

Join my dance, step out and feel free
Take my hand and run through the fields
Shake your fears and remember to live
Listen to the songs of the wind, songs of the wind

Last berries wait for you
The woods offer many tasty shrooms
Why stay inside and miss the treats of earth?

Let's light some grand campfires
Enjoy warm tea and old tales
Wrapped in our warmest clothes
We don't feel any of the coldness

I am not afraid of the autumn winds
Of the autumn winds
They make me feel like a bird that flies free
A bird that flies free
I am dancing with all those golden-coloured leaves
That whirl in the breeze
I am not afraid of the autumn winds
Of the autumn winds

The autumn is the season for change
Say farewell to warm summer days
Even autumn does something good
The nature deserves its rest too

Let's sip some brandy or wine
Eat many biscuits and pies
It makes you feel so warm inside
I can see it from your wide smile, from your wide smile

Just be brave, there's no need for you to hide
Up in the skies, all the stars are alight
Stars are alight, stars are alight
As long as I stay by your side
I'll keep your warm for tonight
I'll keep your warm for tonight, warm for tonight
Warm for tonight

About the song

It seems to me that many folks don't like autumn that much: it's when the weather gets colder and wet and the days get darker and gloomy. I wrote this song to remind hobbits about the grand things that autumn has to offer us. It is best sung to the melody of Chandelier, a song by Sia.
